PBX SIP Device MicroSIP for Desktop Configuration

MicroSIP is a popular open-source softphone for Windows, that offers a lightweight approach to voice and video calling via the SIP protocol. 

Open https://www.microsip.org/downloads in your browser. Download the Lite installer - named Micro SIP-Lite-X.x.x.exe.

Run the installer, clicking next at the prompts, and allowing access at the windows firewall prompt.

Now that the installer has completed, you will need to configure the application. Before doing this, you will need details from your VoIPcloud customer portal.

Login to your customer portal and select the PBX tab, open the SIP Devices tab in the bottom left.

Open MicroSIP and press CTRL + M to open the account configuration page (or Menu -> Add Account). Once you are in the account configuration page of MicroSIP, you will now reference the details in your VoIPcloud customer portal in order to fill the required fields in.

It should be filled in as follows:

Account Name: Your desired display name in MicroSIP

SIP Server: SIP server stated in your SIP devices section of PBX. Use the : followed by the port number.

SIP Proxy: SIP server stated in your SIP devices section of PBX. Use the : followed by the port number.

User: SIP login stated in your SIP devices section of PBX.

Domain: SIP server stated in your SIP devices section of PBX. Use the : followed by the port number.

Login: SIP login stated in your SIP devices section of PBX.

Password: SIP password stated in your SIP devices section of PBX.

Display Name: Your desired display name in MicroSIP.

Media Encryption: Disabled.

Transport: UDP.

Public Address: Checked.

STUN Server: stun.voipcloud.online:3478

ICE: Unchecked.

Allow IP Rewrite: Checked.

Once filled in, press Save to lock in your settings.

The account should now be usable, however you will need to double check the audio device settings to ensure correct speakers and microphone are being used.

Press CTRL + P to open the MicroSIP Settings dialog (or Menu -> Settings). Select the desired Ring Device, Speaker, and Microphone from the drop down list, choosing your Headset if connected.

In the audio codecs section, ensure the available list only contains the G.722 16kHz and the G.711 A-law codecs. Click Save once finished.

Finally don't forget to Apply the Configuration before attempting to register a softphone application. If you have forgotten wait 15 minutes and retry. Should you require any additional help contact our support team.
