PBX Voice Menu Configuration


A voice menu is an automated message that is played to the caller asking for their input. For example press 1 for sale or 2 for support. 

Voice menus will allow you to record or upload your own customized recordings so that when your customers call your number, they will receive a personalized greeting.

Drag and drop the Voice menu object, from PBX toolbox menu on the left, on to the main PBX configuration screen.


Click on the settings icon on the bottom right corner of the object to configure the Voice menu


Inside the settings of the object you can upload your custom greeting, create a descriptive title and change the invalid response greeting from the default.

To upload a custom greeting click the green icon, or click the red icon to record your own greeting.

If you already have a pre-recorded greeting, confirm that the file is in a 8000hz 16bit Mono WAV format.

Invalid recording field is a special greeting, that is played if a caller presses a menu option that does not exist or is invalid. You have the same options available, as the greetings field via the drop down menu.

Once you have configured the settings for the Voice menu, connect the object into your call flow with the relevant exit nodes. In the example below, we have the Voice menu configured to direct inbound calls to a User object if option 1 is selected and a voicemail object if option 2 is selected by the caller. If you require multiple options please drag as many exit clauses as you like from the right hand side of the Voice menu object.


Each exit clause from the Voice menu object has its own dedicated number. Should you need to change the assigned numbers click on the number and a menu will appear. 

Finally don't forget to Apply the Configuration when any changes are made to the Voice menu or associated objects.
