Background
Previously, our system allowed the direct addition of new External Numbers and Microsoft Teams Devices to Queues and Ring Group Objects. However, due to technical reasons, we have had to remove this ability. We would like to emphasise that this change will only prevent you from adding External Numbers and Microsoft Teams Devices directly to the Queues and Ring Groups.
Upcoming Change
We want to inform you that on the 18th of August, 2023, we will automatically remove the External Numbers and Microsoft Teams Devices from the Queues and Ring Groups objects. Email notifications have been sent to affected customers directly.
While this change may require some adjustments on your end, we have prepared several solutions to help you maintain the proper functioning of your Queues and Ring Groups.
Solutions for Microsoft Teams Devices
If you are currently using Microsoft Teams Devices directly within your Queues and Ring Group Objects, we recommend the following solutions:
Solution 1: Add a User License and the Microsoft Teams Device to this User License.
By adding a single User License and associating your Microsoft Teams Device with it, you can preserve your current setup and ensure that your calls continue to be routed via the Queue Object. This solution provides a straightforward way to adapt to the upcoming changes.
Solution 2: Add a SIP Trunk and set up a Microsoft Teams Gateway.
Adding a single SIP Trunk in the Microsoft Teams Gateway mode and including all your Microsoft Teams Devices allows you to direct your call traffic directly to Microsoft Teams, where you can configure your desired call flow. This solution offers flexibility and customisation options.
Solutions for External Numbers
For those using external numbers within their Queues and Ring Group Objects, we have the following suggestions:
Solution 1: Add a single User License and add all your External Numbers.
Adding a single User License and associating all your external numbers with it enables you to maintain your current setup and ensure that your calls are routed via the Queue Object. This streamlined approach simplifies the management of external numbers.
Solution 2: Add multiple User Licenses and add your External Numbers onto each User License.
If you prefer to keep multiple external numbers separated, this solution allows you to add multiple User Licenses and associate each external number with the respective license. This way, you can continue using the Queue Object to route your calls efficiently.
Solution 3: Use our Call Diversion Object as a replacement.
If you wish to avoid changes to your current billing and do not want to add User Licenses, you can remove your Queues or Ring Group and utilise our Call Diversion Object as a replacement. This option enables you to redirect calls to external numbers, ensuring continuity in your call routing.
